ARRESTS

NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE

Felipe Contreras, 46, of the 9500 block of Sumac Road, Des Plaines, is accused of not having a valid driver’s license, and was arrested at 7:50 a.m. Sept. 9 after a traffic crash investigation in the 1300 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on $2,500 bond, and assigned a court date of Sept. 25.

RETAIL THEFT

Fernando Mendoza, 36, of the 800 block of 8th Street, Northfield, is accused of retail theft, resisting arrest, criminal damage to property, and was arrested at 10:37 p.m. Sept. 11 following a theft investigation in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. He was released on $1,000 bond, and assigned a court date of Sept. 30.

NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE

Sergio Labra, 36, of the 2300 block of West Devon Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving no valid driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield turning left, and was arrested at 5:28 p.m. Sept. 13 after a traffic crash investigation in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on a $2,500 bond, and assigned a court date of Sept. 30.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL

Samuel Bova, 34, of the 4500 block of Lilac Avenue, Glenview, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 14 following a crash investigation in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond, and was assigned a court date of Sept. 30.

BATTERY

Jesus Arias, 20, of the 3600 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, is accused of battery, obstructing identification, having a warrant for a probation violation out of Cook County, was arrested at 1:04 a.m. Sept. 14 following an investigation of a battery complaint in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He will attend a bond hearing on Sept. 14.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Summit Drive resident reported at 12:46 p.m. Sept. 8 someone used their credit card number without authorization to pay for travel. The reported loss is $1,100.

  • A Chestnut Avenue resident called police at 1 p.m. Sept. 10 to report their employer received a letter from the Illinois Department of Employment Security confirming they were unemployed. The resident is still employed and believes someone used personal information to make an unemployment application. There is no reported loss to the resident.

  • A Balmoral Avenue resident reported at 4:22 p.m. Sept. 10receiving a Key Bank debit card in the mail from the Illinois Department of Employment Security. They did not apply for unemployment benefits or authorize anyone to use their personal information. There is no reported loss to the resident.

  • An Arbor Lane resident called police at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 12 to report someone applied for unemployment benefits with the Illinois Department of Employment Security using their personal information. There is no reported loss to the resident.

  • A Crestwood Lane resident reported at 7:58 a.m. Sept. 13 someone hacked into a credit account and charged tools and equipment without authorization. The reported loss is $5,500.

  • A West Lake Avenue resident called police at 1:28 p.m. Sept. 14 to report someone applied for unemployment benefits with the Illinois Department of Employment Security using their personal information. There is no reported loss to the employee.

THEFT

  • A resident in the 1600 block of Elmdale Avenue reported at 5:13 p.m. Sept. 8 someone walking by their driveway took a purse left unattended. The reported loss is $120.

  • An employee of a business in the 1100 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 3:46 p.m. Sept. 13 to report someone bought housewares using a fraudulent credit card. The reported loss is $3,000.

  • A resident in the 1900 block of Central Road reported at 11:04 a.m. Sept. 14 someone took a poster from their front yard. The reported loss is $15.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

  • A resident in the 1300 block of Sleepy Hollow Road called police at 5:55 p.m. Sept. 9 to report someone threw eggs at their house. There is no reported damage.

  • An employee of a business in the 3300 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 10:07 p.m. Sept. 10 a customer pulled out a BB=gun and pointed it at the ground.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 7:47 p.m. Sept. 10 to report receiving unwanted e-mails and texts.

  • A resident in the 1600 block of Greenwood Road reported at 4:04 p.m. Sept. 13 receiving unwanted messages on social media.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

  • An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road called police at 12:24 a.m. Sept. 12 to report an intoxicated customer was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave.

  • A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported at 9 p.m. Sept. 11 someone entered their unlocked vehicle parked in the parking lot and searched through it. There is no reported loss.

TRESPASS

An employee of a business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road called police at 10:11 p.m. Sept. 12 to report someone has been placing garbage in their dumpster without permission.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

A Rugen Road resident reported at 1:14 p.m. Sept. 12 receiving unwanted telephone calls.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

An employee in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue called police at 8:03 a.m. Sept. 13 to report someone damaged 24 golf carts. The reported loss is $2,400.

BURGLARY

An employee of a business in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue reported at 1:55 a.m. Sept. 14 someone damaged the glass front door of the business, entered and stole smoking products, alcohol and cash. The reported loss is $3,000.

BATTERY

A guest in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Road called police at 5:41 a.m. Sept. 14 to report an intoxicated man touched her without permission.

AGGRAVATED IDENTITY THEFT

A resident in the 2500 block of Waterview Drive reported at 3:01 p.m. Sept. 14 someone ordered products to their residence through an online delivery service using their credit card without authorization. There is no reported loss to the resident.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

A resident in the 1000 block of Crystal Court called police at 9:42 Sept. 14 to report someone entered their home through an unsecured door and searched through bedroom drawers. There is no reported loss.
